Music Awards

The Detroit Black Music Award Foundation Proudly presents the 14th Annual Detroit Black Music Awards. This year’s theme is “ All White “ as we share some of the best of the best in Metro Detroit.  The 14th Annual Detroit Black Music Awards ceremony is about commemorating Metro Detroit artists with a trophy and paying homage to the many talented musicians and entertainers while they're still alive to their roses. The event is held once a year in August. This year's event is held on August 7th. Established in 2009, the Detroit Black Music Awards will honor those within the category in which they were nominated and honor Luminaries with a lifetime achievement award and with a special tribute award.

Here You'll see honorees and supporters as they make their way into the Charles Wright African American Museum for the 10th Annual Detroit Black Music Awards. To give us an astonishing show this year's signature band included the Funk Bros. "Robert Jones" the dynamic " Mark Gulliory" on drums, the phenomenal "Derrick Bartel" on guitar and last but not least the man that kept it all together none of than bassist "Chuck Styles." Each honoree is chosen by nominations within each category presented by The Detroit Black Music Awards founder, Misty Love. And then voted by the public.
