The Detroit Black Music Award Foundation Proudly presents the 14th Annual Detroit Black Music Awards. This year’s theme is “ All White “ as we share some of the best of the best in Metro Detroit. The 14th Annual Detroit Black Music Awards ceremony is about commemorating Metro Detroit artists with a trophy and paying homage to the many talented musicians and entertainers while they're still alive to their roses. The event is held once a year in August. This year's event is held on August 7th. Established in 2009, the Detroit Black Music Awards will honor those within the category in which they were nominated and honor Luminaries with a lifetime achievement award and with a special tribute award. Voting has begun, please go to DBMA.US to submit your favorite artist, in BEST FEMALE VOCALS, BEST MALE VOCALS, BEST BLUES ARTIST OF THE YEAR, BEST JAZZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR, BEST NIGHTCLUB WITH LIVE MUSIC, BEST GUITARIST, BEST BASS PLAYER, BEST ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR.

President Misty Love, a Detroit vocalist and award winner from both Las Vegas, NV, and Detroit, MI created the (DBMA) Detroit Black Music Awards. This organization boosts the recognition of the outstanding. Just like any award program, this organization raises the value of the recipients; therefore being useful as a strong marketing tool. Ms. Love believes this program helps to assure musical careers for those that bring value to Detroit. In return, the value of Detroit as a vibrant city is increased.
